Pretty nice weekend that was, and an extra day off on monday (holiday). Especially, because Icons 8 the 2k8 edition were chosen as 'staff pick' on apple.com. More than 5,000 downloads already in less than 48 hours. Very, very nice. Thank you very much 'apple staff'.
Icons 8 - the 2008 edition are finished and ready for download, you'll find them here on the
free icons for all page.![]()
I slightly redesigned the old icons 8 to somehow celebrate the 10th birthday of iMac. If Apple dosen't - I do *<;o). The set now is ready for leopard (512px icons included) and vista (256px included). Give your new (i)Macs the vintage bondiblue touch. Enjoy...
And again the ducks are back. These two fellows come back every year and use our fountain to relax a little bit.

I don't know why, but they prefer swimming in our fountain with a diameter of about 3 feet instead of using a giant pond (compared to our fountain) 500 meters (beeline, or duckline if you like) away.
But the best is yet to come: This couple chooses a flower pot to nest - usualy in the first or second floor of a house nearby. In some weeks, after the baby ducks slipt out of their eggs both police and fire department will come and help the babies come down to earth, close the road and guide the complete family of ducks to a meadow across the road, where Donald and Daisy will teach the little ones how to fly and how to cross the street without the help of a police officer.
By the way: Yesterday, the ducks had sex in public - public was me sitting on the terrace having a smoke. And yes - I'm a little bit deranged now ;o)
It looks like .mac is unreachable again. At least the web site mac.com won't open. I don't know about the other functions (email etc.) as I'm not a dot mac user...
This is how the 2k8 edition of icons 8 will look alike:

If you take a closer look, you'll see some slight modifications. Additionally there will be some more icons in the set to cover the needs for the Mac OS Xs 10.3, 10.4 and 10.5 (I'm pretty sure 10.2, 10.1 will also work)...
Well, this year is (or already has been - i'm not sure) the iMacs 10th birthday and to somehow honor this event I'd decided to make a special birthday edition of icons 8 (the bondy blue ones). This actually means: leox graphite volume 3 will be delayed.
The special edition of icons 8 will be ready for download in about 4 days, maybe five. Please stand by and do not download the already existing icons 8 file as it is not leopard ready...
The German tool manufacurer Bosch released a tool for the diy, home constructing, tinkering, handy mac users. an software air lever (water level, spirit level or what ever you like to call it) for mac book users only. If you own an apple portable 2005 or later you can now use it to balance things out the apple way. The software can be found here. The latest Java Plug in is needed. pretty cool and pretty funny. The web site is in German. Simply click download (in Safari), trust the certificate and enjoy. I never thought that a company like Bosch has this kind of humor - or even humor at all.
Found on macnews.de...
leox graphite has been downloaded now more than 15.000 times (15,476.00 exactly ;o) ). Not bad. I'm kind of proud - now...
There will be new free icons for you in about one week + one day from now on. Just to give it a name, it's the leox graphite volume 3 - now with colors. stay tuned - if you like...
A few days ago a new news reader named times was released by acrylic software. Hmmm. It has a totally different concept for a news reader but also an old fashioned style on showing you what's going on within the feeds you're subscribed to we're all familiar with. It trys to look like a printed piece of (news)paper. Double Hmmm. And believe it or not - I somehow like it.
It makes fun reading the feeds ... right now, while i'm writing this article, times crashed simply hanging there in the background not being used ... so this sentence should be written like this: It could be fun reading your news with times - if it was at least a little bit more stable. This shouldn't happen with a 1.x version of a software you'll have to pay for - but i'm sure the author will fix all the minor issues very quick. Give it a try you may like it. times web site...
